Budget Environmental was awarded the job of taking down an iconic Hamilton landmark, Ivor Wynne Stadium. Ivor Wynne was built in 1930 for the British Empire Games and has had an exceptionally long history of more than 80 years which is longer than most.
One of the unique things about Ivor Wynne was the walls that were only a few yards from the playing field allowing spectators to be right on top of the action. Unfortunately it sometimes made for an abrupt stop for players forced out of bounds. Ivor Wynne also had something else that you rarely see in a football stadium, dugouts. These too were an uncomfortable landing spot for out of control players.
Here is a short video showing some of our demolition work in action.
